At present, the library has more than 3.6 million books and materials, and has ordered more than 3,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, including 489 foreign periodicals. There are about 4000 kinds of periodicals, including about 1000 kinds of foreign periodicals and about 3000 kinds of Chinese periodicals. There are also various electronic publications in the museum, including more than 40 electronic literature databases and a large number of film and television materials.

At present, the library can provide dozens of online and CD-ROM databases such as China Academic Journal Network, VIP Science and Technology Journal, Superstar Digital Library, SCI, Scifinder Scholar, Elsevier, Springer Link, John wiley, Ei Village, IEL(IEE, IEEE), etc. There are more than 8000 kinds of Chinese and foreign electronic periodicals/kloc-0, and more than 300,000 kinds of Chinese electronic books. Shanghai University Library adopts Horizon system for information integration management. At present, a network storage device with a total storage capacity of 22TB is configured.

In addition, Shanghai University Library has developed some databases to store its characteristic resources and meet the needs of readers. These databases can be accessed directly by visiting the library home page. Including Shanghai University doctoral thesis database, Qian Weichang database, Shanghai University thesis collection database, Shanghai writers' works database, Shanghai University Library submission guide system and nano-material database.
