Brief introduction of Hunan library
Hunan Library, founded in March 1904, was initiated by Zhao Erxun, the governor of Hunan Province, and founded by young people with western democratic ideas such as Liang Huankui and Long, with the aim of "importing civilization and opening up knowledge". Formerly known as Hunan Provincial Library and Education Museum, the museum is located in Dingwangtai, Changsha (now the location of Changsha Library). 1905, Duan Fang and Pang Hongshu, then governors of Hunan Province, successively allocated more funds to expand the library and sent people to buy books, which was named Hunan Library in 10. Hunan Library adheres to the direction of serving socialism and the people and the principle of "readers first and service first" to serve the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, political civilization and material civilization. It has won the honorary titles of National Civilized Library and First Class Library for many times. Hunan Library is currently the largest public library in Hunan Province, one of the two public libraries under the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and one of the three public libraries in Changsha (the other two libraries are Hunan Children's Library and Changsha Library respectively).
