Design art

1. Overview of the historical evolution and present situation of this discipline. The Department of Fine Arts and Art Design of our school was formed by the merger of the former Fine Arts Teaching and Research Group of the Urban Planning Department of Hunan Urban Construction College and the former Fine Arts Department of Yiyang Normal University. Starting from 1999, the majors of design art, decoration and arts and crafts are enrolled. In 2002, the undergraduate major of design art was enrolled, with two major directions: environmental art design and decorative art design. In 2006, we were awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree through degree evaluation. In 2007, it was awarded as the key construction discipline in hunan city university, and passed the mid-term inspection of key construction discipline in hunan city university in 2009. After three years of discipline construction, the research conditions of design art have been significantly improved, the academic echelon and personnel structure have been reasonably adjusted, the academic qualifications and professional titles of teachers have been improved, the comprehensive qualities of teachers' professional ability, scientific research and teaching level have been significantly improved, and the discipline construction has been improved day by day.

It not only has the teaching characteristics of traditional art, but also intersects with architectural art, environmental art, public design art and other disciplines, and combines traditional art with design concepts to form the distinctive professional characteristics of this research.

(B) Research direction of decorative art design

Main research contents: An academic team of decorative art design with Professor Long Xiangping as the academic leader and Chen Shengsheng, Liu Keqi and Yuan Zhizhun as the main research backbones, with 13 members.

The main research contents are as follows:

(1) China traditional decorative art and its application in graphic design: Huxiang folk art works pay attention to modeling and emphasize the close relationship between man and nature. Most of them have a strong local flavor and are endowed with honest, true and optimistic feelings, which is the embodiment of the simplest artistic thought and artistic language in human labor life. This research direction has long been engaged in the research on the cultural connotation of Huxiang traditional art and the integration and application of Huxiang traditional art in modern design art, focusing on excavating the cultural connotation of regional traditional art, making a comprehensive comparative study on the production skills, living conditions, spiritual connotation, functional characteristics and aesthetic orientation of Huxiang traditional art, and understanding the deep spiritual connotation of regional traditional art. Correctly understand the important functional value of Huxiang traditional art in graphic art design creation and higher art design education, develop and utilize local cultural resources, organically combine traditional culture with modern design art, and at the same time, make in-depth exploration on the construction of characteristic education running mode of blending traditional art and modern design art in local universities.

(2) Creative research on modern graphic design symbols and graphics: symbols and graphics are both important forms of graphic visual design. There is a close relationship between design and semiotics, and symbols are the elements and basic means of design. Through the processing and integration of these elements, the purpose of expressing feelings and feelings can be achieved. Symbol is the medium to carry and transmit information, and it is a simplified means to understand things, which is manifested as meaningful codes and code systems. The graphic expression of creativity is to give full play to imagination and creativity and visualize imagination and creativity through in-depth thinking and systematic analysis of creativity center. The research of this subject aims to use graphic design and semiotics, combined with modern graphic design expression techniques, to design modern art design works with regional and national styles and profound cultural connotations, so that graphic design can be more scientific and accurate in information transmission, more colorful in expression techniques and more scientific and complete in discipline system, and seek theoretical support for characteristic teaching and practice teaching.

Features: The research direction is characterized by attaching importance to the study of the cultural connotation of regional folk art, emphasizing the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality and ability, paying attention to the integration of multiple disciplines, studying the relationship between humanities, art and graphic design, exploring the new value of graphic design, shaping the new regional brand concept of blending traditional culture with modern design, organically integrating pan-communication theory with art design media, and further expanding the graphic design ability, which is conducive to the effective marketing concept of enterprises and products under the characteristic regional culture and improving the quality of artistic design.

3. National demand analysis and development prospect of this discipline. Since the reform and opening up, environmental art design has experienced a rapid development process, especially the social demand for interior design and landscape design has increased year by year. According to the research data of western developed countries, the per capita GDP 1000 USD is the starting point for the decoration industry to enter a period of rapid development, while the per capita GDP of China has just reached this critical point. With the overall improvement of people's living conditions and the further promotion of the rapid growth of the real estate industry, China's architectural decoration industry is welcoming another industry development spring, which brings a sudden shortage of professional design talents, and the social demand exceeds nearly one million every year. Both interior design and landscape design need a large number of environmental art designers. Environmental art majors cover outdoor design, square design, garden design, street design, landscape design, urban road and bridge design and other all-round and wide-ranging designs. With the living standard of modern life and the improvement of consumption level in public places, the design has also changed from the design of hardware facilities in the past to the creation of people's physiological, behavioral and psychological environment, with a broader and deeper understanding. The shortage of IT talents in decoration design has been increasing rapidly. With the rapid development of advertising, packaging, printing, home improvement and clothing industry, the gap of computer design IT talents who master graphic design technology is expanding. More and more people begin to pay attention to the position of advertising and packaging in commercial competition. Excellent advertising and packaging design will bring huge profits to enterprises and businesses, and at the same time, we can also enjoy advertisements with novel and unique creativity and exquisite packaging design. Facing the fierce market competition and the rapid entry of foreign-funded enterprises after China's entry into WTO, local decoration enterprises are facing opportunities and challenges, and the demand for high-quality graphic design talents is even scarcer.
