Jilin Agricultural University Library was founded on 1948. Over the past 70 years, through the unremitting efforts of several generations of librarians, it has gradually developed from two small book boxes with rich literature information resources, advanced library management concepts and services for teaching and scientific research.
In April 2007, the library moved from an old building with a building area of less than 654.38+0000 square meters to a new building with a building area of 365.438+0000 square meters. The new building is located on the bank of the reservoir in the southeast of the campus, with asymmetric layout, prominent entrance image and good lighting throughout the building.
The library has 13 reading room, 1 lecture hall for simultaneous interpretation, 1 academic conference room with 4,300 reading seats. The collection of literature resources is rich, and a complete Chinese and foreign literature retrieval and service system has been established. At present, the total collection of books has reached more than 2.94 million volumes (the sum of paper books and electronic books), and there are 24 Chinese and foreign language databases.
Services mainly include: book borrowing, periodical reading, electronic reading and online inquiry, information reference, retrieval, sci-tech novelty retrieval, document delivery, subject service, user education and training, etc. The library is open 7 days a week, with 24-hour online service and full coverage of WIFI network in the library.
The literature information resources of the library are mainly agricultural science and biological science, as well as science, engineering, economics, management, traditional Chinese medicine, education, literature and other disciplines. The library has a variety of professional periodicals, and has established a relatively complete system of literature retrieval and service in Chinese and foreign languages.
The library of Jilin Agricultural University can meet the needs of teaching and scientific research in terms of building conditions, modern equipment, document resources scale, personnel quality, professional level and library and information functions. Jilin Agricultural University Library is also the first batch of sci-tech novelty retrieval consulting units recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province. It is also the key information service unit of China HowNet and the secondary retrieval service station of China Knowledge Base Project (CNKI HowNet).
The library of Jilin Agricultural University takes "dedication, service, innovation and harmony" as its service commitment, adheres to the concept of "spreading scientific civilization and creating a scholarly campus", and strives to build the library into a document information center, a learning resource center and a knowledge management center of the school, which is a modern library integrating service, research and opening up.
