Since 1956, especially since 1978 resumed its organizational system, the city library has developed rapidly, realizing a major change from manual operation mode to computer integrated management mode, moving towards digitalization and networking, and building the Jingzhou grassroots sub-center of the cultural information resource sharing project. /kloc-in the past 0/0 years, the municipal library has been commended by the state, provinces, cities and other higher authorities for many times: 1989 to 2002 was awarded as the "advanced party branch" of the municipal cultural system for four consecutive times, and 1992 to 2002 was awarded as "civilized" by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government for five consecutive times. 1995 was rated as "National Civilized Library" by the Ministry of Culture, 1999 was rated as "National First Class Library" for two consecutive years in 2004, 5438+0 was rated as "Top Ten Public Libraries in the Province" in 2006, and was rated as a provincial first-class archive room in 2004. It has been rated as an advanced unit in comprehensive management, internal security, family planning and three guarantees in front of the door for many years. In 2003, it became a demonstration site of civilized industry in Hubei Province.

According to the requirements of Document No.8 [2004] of the Municipal Party Committee and the spirit of Document No.200419, the municipal library, children's library and science and technology museum were merged into Jingzhou Library, with children's library and ancient city library under it. The municipal library implements centralized management and unified allocation of the human, financial, material and literature resources of the branch libraries. "Three libraries in one" will effectively change the current situation of resource division, duplication of institutions, scattered financial resources and weak development of municipal public libraries, promote the construction of municipal public libraries, and strive to make municipal public libraries a cultural brand with complete service functions and high modernization level, so that municipal public libraries can take the lead in realizing leap-forward development. A modern library with rich collections, advanced facilities and complete functions will play an increasingly important role in the construction of three civilizations in our city.
