Lanzhou City University Library, formerly known as Lanzhou Normal University Library, was founded in 1979. Since the establishment of the school, the library has gradually developed with the merger, upgrading and renaming of the school. The existing buildings are distributed in the headquarters, Peili Campus and East Campus, with a total area of 34,686.4 square meters. There are six department-level departments, including editorial department.

Nine databases have been established, including the full-text database of China's dissertations, the full-text database of China HowNet China periodicals, the first-class retrieval station, the home of scholars and the Superstar Digital Library. Resources cover humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and other disciplines.

Since 2006, the school party committee and administration have attached great importance to the construction of the library. On the one hand, they increased the construction of infrastructure such as libraries, and successively built Peili New Library and Shaw Library, which expanded the building area of the library rapidly. On the other hand, the investment in paper books, electronic resources and hardware equipment has been increased, which has made great progress in library collection resources.

The construction of library buildings has gone through four stages: 199 1 year, and the library has begun to take shape with an area of 4,200 square meters; On February 28th, 2003, according to the adjustment of higher education level, discipline and specialty in Gansu, Peili Petroleum School was merged into our school, and the construction area was expanded to 6,368 square meters. In 2007, the new library of Peili Campus was put into use, and the construction area of the library reached 138 13.9 square meters.

At the end of 2007, Gansu Kindergarten Normal School was merged into our school, with a building area of 14262.4 square meters. In March 2009, Shaw Library started construction. After it is put into use at the end of 20 10, the building area of the library will be expanded to 34,686.4 square meters. The existing buildings are distributed in the headquarters, Peili campus and East campus.
