What is the standard for expansion joints of concrete pavement? What is the width and depth of the joint? thank you
Expansion joints are generally set on concrete pavement. Transverse joint spacing is 4~5m, joint width is 3 ~ 8mm, and joint depth is 7cm. Set one every 4m, with a joint width of 5~8mm, and the depth of embedded concrete surface in shrinkage joint shall not be less than 1/3 of the thickness of concrete surface (from the top surface).

Building components on the foundation, such as walls, floors, roofs, etc., are divided into two independent parts, so that the building or structure can extend horizontally along the long direction.

Gaps are reserved at regular intervals along the length of the building, and the building is completely disconnected from the above-ground components such as roof, wall and floor. Because the building foundation is buried underground and is not affected by temperature changes, it is not necessary to disconnect it.

Extended data:

Whether it is cement concrete pavement or asphalt concrete pavement, anti-slotting construction should be adopted: releasing reserved notches → cutting reserved slots of expansion joints → adjusting embedded steel bars of expansion joints → removing impurities in notches → placing expansion devices → checking elevation → locking and binding steel bars → shuttering → checking pouring concrete.

Restore the embedded anchor bars, and the number of reserved steel bars shall conform to the design drawings. If it is inconsistent, it should be repaired in time. Clean again with an air compressor. In order to prevent the foam board from being burnt by welding flowers when installing expansion joints, both sides of the foam board can be covered with steel plates or iron sheets for protection.
