Rizhao Library was founded in May of 1974, and became Rizhao Library after Rizhao was upgraded to a prefecture-level city in June of 438+0989. The existing building area is1.200m2, and there are 70,000 books. (Among them: 56,876 books, 1338 ancient books; Newspapers1more than 3000 volumes). There are offices, editorial department, lending department, business counseling department, literature resources department, network information department and * * * enjoyment project sub-center in the museum. There are 2 137 certified readers and 60 reading room seats. Implement open-shelf lending. Open to the outside world all year round. It receives more than 20,000 readers every year. The new museum was completed on 20 15 and officially opened on 26 February 16. The building covers an area of 32,000 square meters and is divided into a basement and three floors above ground. It is a modern large-scale comprehensive public library with advanced equipment and complete functions. There are more than 20 service windows in the museum, including digital resource experience area, children's borrowing area, old people's borrowing area (visually impaired reading area), academic report area, newspaper reading area, book borrowing area, audio-visual literature borrowing area, reader's self-study area, special collection literature reading area, Nishan Academy, Wang Memorial Hall and newspaper exhibition hall. More than 80,000 kinds and 260,000 volumes of paper books were newly purchased.
