On the morning of October 7th, 65438/KLOC-0, the publishing ceremony of Library Newspaper, the first library newspaper in China, sponsored by Xinhua Bibliography, was held in Beijing Marriott Hotel. Nie Zhenning, President of China Publishing Group Corporation; Chairman library society of china, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Library and Executive Deputy Director Zhan; Wu Weici, Senior Professor of Peking University; Chen Yuanzheng, a retired researcher of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Publishing Bureau; Huang Shuyuan, President of People's Publishing House; Chen Li, Vice Chairman of library society of china and Deputy Director of the National Library; Wang Yuguang, Vice Chairman of library society of china and Director of Information Management Department of Peking University. Ni, Vice Chairman of library society of china and Director of the Capital Library, Yang Peichao, Vice Chairman of library society of china and Director of the Library of China Academy of Social Sciences, Fan Xian, General Manager of Zhonghua Book Company and Sanlian Bookstore, Huang, Executive Deputy Secretary General of China Publishers Association and Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of Beijing Book Order Fair, attended the publishing ceremony.

As the only professional media named after "Library Newspaper" in the world, the publication of "Library Newspaper" is not only a major event in the domestic book industry, but also attracts the attention of the world. IFLA President alan taylor also sent a congratulatory letter.

Wang Jixian, general manager of Xinhua Bookstore, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizers. He said that Library Newspaper, as a subsidiary of Xinhua Bibliography, is committed to building an information platform for communication between publishers and libraries on the basis of maintaining and strengthening the traditional subscription function of Xinhua Bibliography, which is definitely an innovative move close to the market.

Library society of china is the co-organizer of Library Newspaper. In addition to Zhu Qiang, the director of Peking University Library, several vice presidents of library society of china in Beijing attended the publishing ceremony, which reflected the importance and expectation of library society of china and the library community for Library Newspaper.

In his speech, Chairman library society of china, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Library and Executive Deputy Director Zhan hoped that the library industry would make good use of Library Newspaper, improve the social status of the library and promote the healthy and rapid development of the library cause.

Nie Zhenning, president of China Publishing Group Corporation, the unit in charge of Library Newspaper, delivered a warm speech at the meeting. He pointed out that the library newspaper takes "building a reading culture" as its own responsibility, and the joint efforts of the publishing and library circles will certainly promote the in-depth development of reading for all. He said that China Publishing Group will do its utmost to provide guarantee and support for the sustainable development of library newspapers.

Subsequently, Wang Yuguang, Yang Peichao and Yan Li spoke on behalf of academia, library and publishing respectively, and expressed their sincere congratulations on the publication of Library Newspaper. All three parties indicated that they would carry out more extensive and in-depth communication, exchange and cooperation on the platform of library newspaper.

After the publication ceremony, Library Newspaper also held the award ceremony for 2009 National Excellent Library Dealers.
