In the early days of Adolf Hitler's Nazi rule, Anne's father otto frank (1889–1980) was a German businessman who came to live in Amsterdam with his wife and two daughters. 194 1 year, after the German army occupied the Netherlands, Anne was forced to transfer from a public school to a Jewish school. Facing deportation (it is said to be a forced labor camp), Franks hid in the back office and warehouse of otto frank Food Company with four other Jews on July 9 (1942). With the help of several non-Jewish friends who smuggled food and other supplies, they lived in a secret annex until August 4, 1944.
