SLUB, the library of Saxony-Dresden University of Technology in Germany, was founded in 1556 and officially opened to the public in 1788. In 2002, it moved to the new library in Zeles Street, where all the books were put together. Now it has nearly 9 million volumes (8.94 million volumes, 20 12), ranking 38th in Germany.
The library has a book museum. The most famous collection is 20 12 ancient Mayan prophecy, one of the three existing versions in the world, and the other two volumes are in Paris, France and Madrid, Spain.
