How many years should IB courses last?
IB stands for international diploma. The associate degree course of IB International University is an admission qualification course recognized by more than 200 universities around the world, including France, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, the United States and Britain. At present, there are more than 500 middle schools in 7/kloc-0 countries in the world that can offer this course. The internationalization of this qualification course provides students with the convenience and possibility of cross-border education. The major of study involves medicine, economics, management, applied linguistics, drama and so on. The final qualification examination questions of IB course are formulated by the international IB education organization. After passing the exam, students will be eligible to enter any country in the world that recognizes IB qualification, thus avoiding the influence of different education systems in different countries. The regular IB course is a two-year program, which is suitable for students aged 16- 19. IBO (International Diploma Organization) was formally established in 1967, with the original intention of serving international schools and facilitating the children of mobile families all over the world to enter school. It has the status of educational consulting partner in UNESCO. As an international educational institution registered with UNESCO, IBO has more than a thousand member schools in 100 countries and regions. The international diploma organization has absorbed the essence of educational reform in many countries, promoted the creative thinking of teachers and students, and made unremitting efforts to cultivate students with multicultural and multidisciplinary knowledge. IBO is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and its course and examination center is in Cardiff, England. There are offices in Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe and Latin America, which are responsible for managing and organizing schools in their respective regions. The idea of education is lifelong education. Through comprehensive and balanced subject setting and strict scientific evaluation, students will be trained to be lifelong learners with critical spirit and good at learning, active participants in regional and world affairs, friendly people who respect the cultures and concepts of various ethnic groups, and ideal citizens with international consciousness and sense of responsibility. The goal of all international diploma education programs is to cultivate people with international feelings, who recognize the human spirit, share the responsibility of protecting the earth and help create a better and more peaceful world. IB schools in Beijing are: 1, Beijing Shiqing International School 2, Beijing Private Jiahui School 3, and Beijing Lecheng International School IB courses: IB-DP has nine courses, three of which are called core courses, the other six are called basic courses, and six are for students. In fact, there are many courses for students to choose from. The six basic courses are designed for knowledge teaching, but they are only used to compare with the domestic knowledge teaching courses and have a look at the realm of "less but better" (the knowledge points are relatively few in China, the knowledge level of contact is deep, the thinking and cognition are widely inspired, and the follow-up study, especially self-study, is strongly supported). The three core courses are all non-teaching, among which the extended thesis (ee) points to cultivating students' exploration and research ability, the knowledge theory (TOK) points to students' comprehensive knowledge structure, and the innovation, action and service (CAS) points to students' creativity cultivation, physical development and social development. It can be said that the three core courses have covered the basic scope that belongs to the educational category and can be carried out in the school environment except knowledge teaching. In other words, from the school's point of view, the problem of "non-education" is mainly in these three courses. Now I will interpret these three courses one by one, and the free interpretation part is still in square brackets. Extended thesis EE: Extended thesis allows students to choose one of the six basic courses for independent research, and get the help of the instructor, and finally form an English thesis with no more than 4,000 words. The goal of this course is to "enable students to master the skills of critical research methods". "According to past experience, most students get great satisfaction after completing a very thorough personal thesis", which is what the school wants to tell students. The research topic is determined in the second semester of the selected course, and the thesis is completed before graduation. Students who have not completed the extended thesis will not get the graduation certificate. Principle of paper evaluation: whether it meets the general standard of subject research papers, supplementary: 24 points; Whether it meets the specific standards of the selected subjects, 12 points. The total score is 36 points, which is divided into five grades: A, B, C, D and E. Together with the knowledge theory course, it is decided whether to get the reward points of the core course. TOK: The course of knowledge theory is held once a week, in the form of lectures and seminars, for teachers and students of all subjects. Course objective: to make students re-examine the knowledge they have learned in various subjects and put forward some more basic and critical questions about "knowledge". This is a strict critical thinking training course. What the course needs to cover: 1. The role of language and thinking in knowledge. Logical accuracy of knowledge. Mathematics as a knowledge system. Knowledge of natural science. Social science knowledge. History, can we really understand the past? 7. Evaluation of morality, politics and beauty. Insight discussion 9. Reasoning and knowledge 10. Affection requires students to achieve such an effect: knowing that there are different ways to know things, appreciating things has different levels of inevitability, and understanding what we have learned depends on our living background. We can use knowledge to evaluate, reason and prove the analysis to support the value system evaluation method of knowledge form: write an article 1200 ~ 168. Within the scope of knowledge theory, choose your own topic, oral expression test 10 minutes, 20 points, with a total score of 60 points. According to this, it is divided into five grades: A, B, C, D and E, and it will be decided whether to win the core course award according to the development of the thesis. Students who have not completed the course of knowledge theory will not get a diploma. Core course award points: determined by the cascade combination of two courses: expanding thesis EE and knowledge theory TOK. For example, the combination of AA, AB and BA can be divided into the highest 3 points (45 points for IB-DP graduation, including 42 points for basic courses), and 2 points for BB, AC and CA. If it is an EE group, it will fail and be disqualified from obtaining a diploma. Innovation, Action and Service Course CAS: This is a simple activity course with only activity arrangement and no teaching content. Each student's CAS course time is required to be no less than 3 ~ 4 hours per week, and the three parts of the whole school year are generally balanced. CAS courses can be selected from various activities carried out by the school. All activities that require creativity (creative critical thinking) can be regarded as innovative creativity, such as culture, art, drama, dance, photography, information exchange, word processing, desktop design and so on. All activities that require physical exercise can be considered as movements, such as swimming, tennis, basketball, football, field trips and so on. The service includes various voluntary activities and is regarded as the most important course in IB-DP project. For example, volunteering in nursing homes, orphanages and villages; Help to tutor students in their studies; Volunteer librarian in the school library and so on. Evaluation: Students have their own personal CAS files. Supplement: CAS instructors will review these files and sign their opinions. CAS courses do not participate in reward points, only the difference between completed and unfinished courses. If you don't complete the CAS course, you won't get a diploma. If you don't finish the CAS course in this school year, you won't be promoted to the next school year. It is suggested that students choose the specific content of CAS activities according to their future career interests, so that some activities are related to their future careers. The goal of CAS course is to help students understand and appreciate social voluntary work, provide opportunities for students to serve others, and provide challenges to cultivate students' exploration spirit, self-reliance, skills and interests, so that students have ample opportunities to win social praise after class.
