How to find the corresponding book by calling the number in the library?
Classified call numbers mainly include four types: author order call number, book name order call number, time order call number and book cataloging order call number.

Their structures are basically the same, and they are composed of two basic parts. One is the classification number, which is listed on the top line; The other part is the book number, that is, the author number, book name, publication year number and cataloging sequence number of such books, which are listed in the next line of the classification number.

First, for most books, in order to concretize the call number, the following symbols must be attached according to the specific situation:

1. The additional book title is only added after the author number to distinguish different works of the same author in the same category.

2. The version number is added to the next line of the author number or book title to distinguish different versions of the same work.

3. The book number or department number is added to the next line of the four numbers, such as the author number, to distinguish between different volumes of multi-volume books and different volumes of the same book.

In addition, if necessary, the language number (used to distinguish foreign documents), document type identifier (such as reference book identifier) or special collection number should be appended after the classification number. The order of call numbers adopted by most libraries in China is classification/author and classification/book cataloging.

Second, the table call number:

There are mainly property registration number, call number and shelf number.

The former takes the title registration number of the book as the call number. Such as A737908.

The latter takes the number composed of the shelf number, layer number and book number of the bookshelf where a book is located as the call number. For example, 00 1- 1-0 15, the number 1 5 representing the first floor. When necessary, these two call numbers should be accompanied by the language number and reference book identifier.

In addition, the official call number can also directly use the number of the document itself. Such as international standard book number, standard contribution number, scientific report number, etc. as call numbers.

Although the structure of formal call number is simpler than that of classified call number, it cannot reveal the subject attribute of books.

Extended data:

In general, the call number consists of two parts: the classification number and the book number.

The first part of the call number is the classification number used according to the subject theme of the book.

The second part of the call number is the author number arranged according to the name of the book author, or the serial number taken according to the time when the book entered the library. By using the author number, books written by an author on the same subject will be grouped together, which is also convenient for readers to find information.

The classification number is taken according to the Chinese Library Book Classification.

The book number is the serial number of books with the same classification number, which consists of 1-3 Arabic numerals.

The author number consists of the first pinyin letter of the first responsible person (limited to 1) and three Arabic numerals.
