Dalian Maritime University Library, formerly known as Dalian Maritime University Library, was founded in 1953, with less than 7,000 books when it opened. The library of Dalian Maritime University consists of two buildings, old and new. The old building was built in 198 1 with an area of 6630 square meters. In September, 20001,the new library of Dalian Maritime University was built and put into use, with an area of 14700 square meters. The following year, the second phase of the new building was completed, covering an area of 2,670 square meters. The total building area of the library is 24 132 square meters, with more than 2,974 reading seats, and the weekly opening hours are 9 1.3 hours.
