Harbin Library has 19 external service windows, such as book lending office, Chinese social science books, Chinese science and technology books, Chinese and foreign periodicals, ordinary newspapers and periodicals, scientific and technological literature retrieval, local literature, ancient books, reference books and self-study, and more than 1000 reading seats, all of which are open-shelf lending, and can receive more than 2,000 readers every day. The multifunctional lecture hall of the City Pavilion has 300 movable seats, which can hold various reports, lectures and entertainment activities. The city library has more than 2.2 million books, including online ancient books 150843 and Chinese and foreign periodicals 63706 1. With the development of computer technology and communication technology, Harbin Library has accelerated the modernization process, fully implemented computer management in the main work links such as interview, editing, circulation, continuous publications, local documents and retrieval, gradually established and improved the library's machine-readable catalogue database, opened an electronic reading room and multimedia classrooms, and became the grassroots center of the cultural information resource sharing project of the Ministry of Culture, providing information inquiry, CD retrieval and other services. Since the completion of 1987, the automobile library of Harbin Library has served all over the urban and rural areas of Harbin, forming a radial service network with the main library as the center and the automobile museum as the link.
