The unified entrance examination for undergraduates has just ended, and the enrollment of all kinds of self-taught full-time classes has become active again. The reporter's investigation for several days found that many "self-taught full-time classes" deceived candidates under the signboard of famous schools.

On April 1 1 this year, the Ministry of Education issued a document, clarifying that subordinate colleges and universities will stop enrolling adult full-time classes and social assistance full-time classes for higher education self-study exams this fall, nor can they co-organize the above-mentioned full-time classes with other institutions.

However, at present, there are still some social training institutions that use the signboard of affiliated universities to set up registration points in prestigious schools, promise teachers to teach, students to attend and stay in prestigious schools, and issue diplomas from prestigious schools, thus misleading candidates to pay for registration.

The relevant person in charge of the School of Continuing Education of Huazhong Normal University said that it is impossible for a prestigious school directly under the Ministry of Education to recruit full-time self-taught classes in violation of the regulations of the Ministry of Education. Candidates should keep their eyes open and don't be deceived.

Is the university out of line or is someone cheating?

Core tips

■ In recent years, some colleges and universities in Wuhan have joined hands with social education institutions to recruit students who failed in the college entrance examination to participate in self-taught classes. The annual tuition fee for each student is generally five or six thousand yuan, and the huge tuition fee is divided by both parties in proportion. Driven by the interests, the enrollment of self-taught classes in these colleges and universities is often called "self-taught schools with high pass rate" and "self-taught students can enjoy the treatment of full-time students" ... Many students only found out that they were cheated after paying the money. At the same time, due to the competition for students in colleges and universities, many students find that the recruiters have taken money to into thin air. This newspaper reported this continuously from the end of August to the beginning of September last year.

■ In the first half of this year, the Ministry of Education issued a document requesting subordinate colleges and universities to stop enrolling similar self-taught classes from this fall and not to cooperate with other institutions to run classes.

■ Now is the enrollment season. In Wuhan, the enrollment of self-taught students under the signboard of colleges and universities has begun again. What's going on here?

The banner of "Welcome to the New Era" attracts candidates.

There is still one month before freshmen start school, and some "welcome spots" and "reception desks" have been set up in Jiangcheng passenger station, railway station and other places where foreign tourists are concentrated.

On the morning of August 2, the reporter saw in the square in front of Acer Bus Terminal and Hankou Railway Station that the welcome receptions of more than ten universities were lined up in front of each other, and the scene was quite spectacular.

These so-called "orientation points" are not for welcoming new students, but for enrolling students for "full-time self-taught full-time classes" (hereinafter referred to as "self-taught classes").

The reporter found on the spot that the titles of many enrollment brands and brochures are "Huazhong Normal University" and "Zhongnan University of Economics and Law" (hereinafter referred to as "Central South University").

At a welcome point at the Hung Kai Bus Terminal in Wuchang, reporters approached and asked, and were immediately surrounded by staff from various schools, scrambling to introduce their enrollment policies to reporters. A "welcome guest" staff handed the reporter an enrollment brochure with the name of Central South University and photos of campus scenery. He solemnly said that the self-study class lasts for 4 years and the tuition fee is more than 5,000 yuan per year. He is studying in Central South University, and will live in Hu Lin apartment in Nanhu campus of the school in the future.

School profile, campus photos, enrollment plan, charging standards and other contents of Huazhong Normal University's self-taught class in 2007 are all available. The column of "Learning Mode" indicates: Through full-time teaching and closed management, the full-time undergraduate training mode is strictly followed.

There is something fishy about the admissions brochure

On the cover of a publicity page titled "Examiner of Central China Normal University", the words "Huazhong Normal University" at the top are very eye-catching, and the words "Examiner of Central China Normal University" are marked in small print at the lower right corner. Below the cover, the small print "Wuhan Du Wen Counseling College" is extremely inconspicuous, but the big picture of the campus on the cover is the office building of a department of China Normal University.

At the top of the title page of the enrollment brochure, the column of "school profile" explains the strength of running a school in China Normal University in a great length, but the following is a few words about the situation of Du Wen Counseling College.

The reporter contacted Mr. Cui from Shangdu Counseling College according to the telephone number in the brochure. She explained that the aid class was hosted by Du Wen, and China Normal University, as the examiner, was responsible for teaching and examination, and the passing rate of the examination reached 98%.

According to Teacher Cui, the graduation certificate of the self-taught class was issued by China Normal University. The graduation certificate is the same as that of China Normal University, but it needs to be stamped with the seal of "Hubei Higher Education Self-taught Examination Committee".

Yesterday morning, the staff of the College of Continuing Education (College of Adult Education) of China Normal University said after reading the enrollment brochure brought by the reporter that many candidates may not know what "examiner" means and mistakenly think that "examiner school" is an enrollment school. In fact, the students are all social institutions.

According to the staff, according to the teaching strength of colleges and universities, the education authorities awarded some "examiner qualifications" for self-taught majors to different colleges and universities. Generally, a college has 4-5 professional examiners' qualifications, and a college with professional examiners' qualifications has the right to propose and mark papers for this major. Candidates who sign up for the self-taught examination in the society have passed the examinations of all subjects in a certain major organized by the provincial self-taught examination committee, and can indeed obtain the self-taught graduation certificate jointly issued by the provincial self-taught examination committee and the examiners' colleges. However, the admissions agency is responsible for the teaching, life and teacher recruitment of candidates, and has nothing to do with the examiner school. Social personnel can also go to the provincial self-study examination office to register for the examination. These enrollment institutions are all famous schools for "examiner examination", and they are all engaged in social training in essence.

Chen Qinfang, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, looked at the school's enrollment brochure and said that it was deceptive to print the name and introduction of the "examiner" school very big and eye-catching, and only mention it briefly in his own school.

There are still registration points for self-study classes in prestigious schools.

The reporter also found that these registration points in the name of affiliated universities are located in relevant affiliated universities.

On the afternoon of the 5th, the reporter went to Shouyi Campus of Central South University (where the School of Adult Education is located) according to the registration address in an enrollment brochure.

Just arrived in front of the school, two girls who claimed to be Central South University students greeted them warmly and asked if they had come to sign up. Then they took the reporter to the registration point indicated in the admissions brochure: Room 20 1 Building 29.

There are only a few cabinets, two tables and some chairs in the room. A person in charge of enrollment in his fifties called himself Teacher Yao, and he quickly closed the door after the reporter entered the door, so he was very cautious.

After showing the reporter and his party the enrollment brochure, Mr. Yao said that students attending classes and staying in Nanhu Campus of Central South University are not much different from ordinary undergraduates.

During this period, two more girls came in to consult and register. Teacher Yao took out a large stack of application forms and said that more than 270 people had signed up. At present, it is planned to recruit about 360 students, but it may be expanded appropriately.

It is understood that each applicant has to pay a registration fee of 100 yuan and tuition fees paid in advance in 500 yuan. A Xishui candidate said that he didn't sign up until he saw the registration place of Central South University.

Teacher Yao claims to be a teacher of Central South University. He also said that in a few days, they will set up a consultation point in Nanhu Campus of Central South University to register.

Dean Fu of the Self-taught College of Central South University (the second-level unit of Central South University) said that these people are the recruiters of Wuhan Institute of Science and Technology, and the public houses of the Admissions Office are rented in Central South University.

On August 7, the reporter came to China Normal University to investigate and found that there were three different enrollment points in the self-study class of the school, one of which was located in a small bookstore called Liqun Bookstore.

In the Education College of China Normal University, which is only 100 meters away from Liqun Bookstore, the reporter found another registration point hidden in the basement of the building after many twists and turns.

In this small room of about 10 square meter, two computers and several tables are put together to form a simple admissions office. On the wall, there is a large-scale enrollment brochure of "Self-taught Student Class of the Teaching Department of China Normal University", and there are many filled-in but not yet sent admission notices on the table.

The subordinate colleges and universities deny that they have anything to do with themselves.

When the reporter went to make an unannounced visit, Mr. Tang, the person in charge of enrollment who claimed to be a staff member of China Normal University, never asked about the exam results from beginning to end. He just said that he would recruit 400 people this year, and he would get the admission notice by paying the fee on the spot. Students can have classes and meals on campus, and they can also enjoy resources such as the school library like other unified enrollment students.

The reporter saw on the admission notice that it was stamped with two red seals: "Teaching Department of the Old Professors Association of Central China Normal University" and "Wuhan Law School". Although the notice is printed with several bright red characters of Huazhong Normal University, it is not stamped with the seal of China Normal University below.

In this regard, "Mr. Tang" said that Chinese teachers can't recruit self-taught classes, and of course they can't stamp their seals.

The reporter pointed to the "Wuhan Law School" on the admission notice and asked what was going on. "Teacher Tang" said that his enrollment has nothing to do with the college, but he is familiar with the college and enrolls students in his name.

The staff of the College of Continuing Education (College of Adult Education) of China Normal University said that according to the notice of the Ministry of Education this year, the school has stopped enrolling full-time self-study classes, and has not enrolled similar self-study classes with any social institutions. These admissions have nothing to do with the school.

Earlier, China Normal University announced in official website that some social workers had recently recruited self-taught classes in the name of the school, which caused many candidates and their parents to have doubts or be deceived and damaged the reputation of the school.

The school declares that all the enrollment information of self-taught classes published in the name of China Normal University or a unit, department or association of China Normal University is false information, and the school reserves the right to hold these units and individuals accountable.

It is reported that Zhongnanda also issued a similar announcement on its website. A person in charge of the self-taught college told the reporter that a college called her many times and promised to cooperate in enrollment on the condition of 1800 yuan/person, which was rejected by the hospital.

Who is providing convenience for the enrollment institutions?

Chen Qinfang said that the enrollment institutions set their enrollment points in the examiners' colleges, which deliberately created the illusion of "financial enrollment" for the candidates, and also caused great damage to the reputation of the school.

So how do these social training institutions openly enroll students in subordinate universities? Why didn't the school come forward to stop this kind of behavior that damaged the reputation of the school?

A person in charge of the self-taught college of Central South University said that the house was rented by the school's asset management company. I didn't know that the other party rented a house to enroll students before, and the college couldn't manage it.

After the reporter interviewed, the person in charge of the self-taught college called the school office. Half an hour later, the school security office sent someone to stop the two enrollment points in the school and disperse the enrollment personnel gathered on both sides of the road in the school.

On the morning of August 7th, the reporter came to the school office of Central South University and reported the relevant situation to Wang Zhenwei, deputy director of the school office. Wang Zhenwei said angrily that they set up enrollment points in the name of the school, which easily misled students into thinking that it was our school's enrollment, which was very deceptive and affected the reputation of the school. He immediately called the self-taught college to ask about it, and also called the security office to ask for an investigation.

Wang Zhenwei said that the school had held two special school committees and repeatedly told them not to engage in education-related activities in the school, not to recruit students in the name of the school, and not to rent the house to any unit or individual engaged in teaching.

He said that if these people don't withdraw from the school, they will ask the public security organs to withdraw.
