The layout is divided into three areas: north, middle and south. The main building in the north area is a literature borrowing area. There are loan rooms, reading rooms for various subjects, computer information center and science and technology information center in the main building.
There are modern garden buildings in the central area-Tianxiang Zhu Xiao and Tianxiang Bookstore, which are mainly for readers' leisure and VIP reception. There is a classical garden corridor along Zhangsiliang Lane in the east, which is engraved with famous paintings and calligraphy of Suzhou in the past dynasties, reflecting the general situation of Suzhou's rich humanities, talented people and cultural prosperity.
Along the side of Renmin Road, there is an empty corridor and green belt about 60 meters long, which is isolated from the bustling street view. The gallery is a patriotic education base in Jiangsu Province, and it is carved with aphorisms of academicians of Suzhou Academy of Sciences. There is a 2,400-square-meter knowledge square in the South District, surrounded by academic lecture halls, exhibition halls, social education and training centers and children's halls.
