Igniting Children's Reading Enthusiasm: Five Practical Skills
If children think reading is a pleasant and smooth experience, then as parents, we should sow the love of reading in their children's hearts. Read aloud to them quietly at least several times a day or a week, and get into the habit.

Choose attractive books.

Choose interesting books for children, especially those with beautiful illustrations and love. Children will be attracted by people, scenes and animal pictures they are familiar with. Fairy tales are another excellent choice. They can not only help children understand the world, but also stimulate their imagination and creativity.

Moderate length, easy to understand.

Choose simple books with rich illustrations and short words for children. Make sure the words in the book are easy to understand, so as not to bring reading pressure to children.

A relaxed and pleasant reading atmosphere

When reading to children, try to create a relaxed and happy atmosphere. So they will prefer reading.

Finger guidance, not forced reading

When reading aloud, point to the text you are reading. But don't force children to follow your fingers or read. Let them enjoy pictures and stories freely.

Encourage prediction and exploration.

Encourage children to observe the pictures and guess the development of the story. Praise and encourage them when they make a successful prediction. If children especially like a book, they may wish to read it repeatedly, so that children can explore and enjoy it in depth.
