Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology is located in Benxi Economic and Technological Development Zone, Liaoning Province. It is a multi-disciplinary provincial undergraduate college with a long history and mainly engineering. The college, formerly known as Benxi Metallurgical College, was founded in 1948 and was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. 1958, upgraded to Benxi iron and steel institute; In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed as University of Science and Technology Liaoning.
