Greetings, Qing Dynasty couplets
He (1860-1910.8) is a native of Jiangyin County, Jiangsu Province (Anfu magistrate, the eldest son of Yangzhou salt merchant He Wei). Guangxu fifteen years, ugly (1889). I am eager to learn, I can also write articles, and I am familiar with the languages of other countries. As a consultant, I was sent to Russia. After returning to China, he served as a provincial judge in Zhili, a minister in Gansu and a governor in Xinjiang.

After four years of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1865), his father He Yi settled in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province (now Hanshang Street, Hanjiang District, Yangzhou City), he still moved to his hometown in Jiangyin County, and then went to Wentong Museum to study foreign languages and became proficient in English and Russian. Later, he went to Russia. In addition to gardens, Yangzhou and Zhai Garden focus on libraries and study rooms. After the death of his father He, He collected books all the year round. Although he was an official outside, people in the Republic of China also called it "autumn collection". His son He even recited poems in the garden all day. He became a scholar at the age of 25. Taking the meaning of "fragrance" in Yuefu poems, he named the reading room in his garden "fragrance room" and "fragrance officer" respectively. He Zhenyi brought the books in the garden to Beijing, and then brought them back to Yangzhou after he was a scholar. It is reported that the collection of books in Hejing was purchased by the Japanese, among which Dunhuang papers are the best, and are now stored in the adjacent library of Fujii, Kyoto, Japan. He Jinyi was born in February1year. When the two brothers lived in Xuanyuan, He could already write poems. He Jinyi is still a teenager. In his later years, He Jinyi recalled that "a brother is a poem. He must twist the rope of money, gamble with his eyes and patrol the house in an instant." Yu Tong is young and often hides his rope to get fruit bait. "According to the official history of the Qing Dynasty, in the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu, Wushen (1908) moved from Chiang Rai to Zhili as a provincial judge. In November of Xuantongyuan year (1909), the provincial judge of Zhili moved to Gansu. In the second year of Xuantong (19 10), he was transferred from Gansu Buzheng to Xinjiang Governor. Since I left Yangzhou, my main activities have been in the northern region, and I am cautious by nature. No poems or works survived.

In the second year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (19 10), he died in Governor's Road, Xinjiang at the age of 50.

He wrote couplets for the title.

Yumen in spring was once a county of Han nationality;

The garden is surrounded by green water, what a beautiful mountain forest.

-If there are existing gardens in Lanzhou, Gansu.

If there is an existing garden, it is also called Zhongshan West Garden, which is located behind the Civil Affairs Department of Gansu Provincial Government, and is also called He Mingyuan. During the light years of the Qing dynasty, the political envoy and Derun Xiuzhi were renamed as "If there is a garden". There has been a pavilion named "Zhao Si Pavilion" since the old clan "Le Shou Pavilion spread eastward". There is a small pool in the east, and a small building in the north of the pool is called "Jia Qian Lou". There is a pool of water in front, which leads the Agan River into the city from Xiguan, enters the park through Guangouyan, flows from southwest to east of the park, and meets in the pool. There is a bridge across the water in the north of Zhao Si Pavilion. Across the bridge to the north wall of the garden, there are five huge rooms called "Caixiang Pavilion". There is a veranda in the west and a pavilion in the northwest corner, which is called "Tianxiang". In the south is the "Flower Hall" and in the south is the "Moon Pavilion". There is a mountain in the southwest and a building in the east of the mountain, which is called "Chen Gong". There is a small garden with a stone gate in the east, named "Kunlun Market", so it was slightly restored to the Zhao Si Pavilion in the east. In the 12th year of People's Republic of China (PRC) (1923), this park was named Lanzhou Park, and later changed to Zhongshan West Park.

He taunted Lian.

People know what is wrong when they are in a car;

After all, have you forgotten?

-taunting an international student (1)

In the late Qing Dynasty, an overseas student sent a letter to He Qiunian, mistaking the word "Ji" for "Dai" and the word "Yan" for "Geng". He Qiunian made such a joint taunt, which was ridiculous and abusive. Or change it (see "Laughing at an International Student [2]" below). After the spread of couplets, it became a joke after dinner. Yi Zongkui's New World Theory, Volume 8, Errors (Shanghai Ancient Books Bookstore198665438+Photocopy in February, p. 600)

Generation with the car, husband Yoko;

Eventually, Jiu Nan will be over 88.

-mocking a foreign student (2)

Generation with the car, husband Yoko;

Being an official, everyone is careless.

-mocking Tang Hanlin's white words

At that time, there was another Cantonese, Tang, who was an international student and got an academician. To He Zhongcheng, talk about the Constitutional Law Research Association, and call it the "autumn generation old man"; Among them, "indifference to human life" is called "grass cares about human life" He Qiunian scoffed at this. It can be said to be a masterpiece, and it was given to an academician. Yi Zongkui's New World Theory, Volume 8, Errors (Shanghai Ancient Books Bookstore198665438+Photocopy in February, p. 600)

Mourn for He Lian.

Young and too smart, turned confused because of family and friends;

Everything is rich, and I am willing to be bullied.

-zhen-yu he with his father?

Ten years old, the rain is thin, the bright moon is still there, and there is no plum blossom smile in the East Pavilion;

When the clouds stopped, the tears broke and the sun did not come out. It is said that it is tragic to play Liangzhou in Jiegu.

-What feast did the teacher of Beiyang Military Equipment School bring to Fangdi Mountain (1)

In the second couplet "Stop the Cloud", Tao Qian wrote four poems "Stop the Cloud", and the preface said: "Stop the Cloud and invite friends and relatives." "Not Out of Yangguan" He Feast served as the governor of Xinjiang, went to Liangzhou Prefecture (now Wuwei, Gansu Province), and died in a post station hundreds of miles away from Yangguan (now southwest of Dunhuang).

Can take the Wan Li Road, know a hundred books, no wonder the princes will let Ban Chao guard the western regions;

Desolate Yumenguan, weeping for water, if I had known today, He Xun would be better in Yangzhou.

-Beiyang armament school teacher Fang Dishan and feast (2)

Appendix: Anecdotes and Anecdotes of He

[Dunhuang catastrophe]

As we all know, the cave of Tibetan scriptures in Dunhuang was discovered by the Taoist king. Taoist Wang's greed for money led to the exile of the treasure, which led to a hundred-year sad history of Dunhuang, and also made the world know the immortal Dunhuang art. The hundred-year sad history of Dunhuang also involved four Yangzhou people: He, He, Li Shengduo and Fang Dishan. He, He, the son and grandson of the owner of Yangzhou Lake Garden. Tiger Garden, located at No.22 Donghuanmen, was built in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty and is a municipal cultural protection unit. The west road is divided into two parts with a width of three rooms. This hall has been empty for many years, abandoned and partially broken. Zeng Guofan is a Yin person in Lianjiang. He used to be the magistrate of Ji 'an and Jiangyin in Tongzhi of Qing Dynasty. When he built the Lake Garden in Lian Fang, he had a good house as a library. He's collection began with Lotus Fangfang, and was later collected by his sons He and Sun. By the time of the Republic of China, he had collected more than 40 thousand books. Due to the decline of He family, his books were sold in Shanghai Commercial Press in the Republic of China and became the collection of Hanfen Museum. Fang erqian is closely related to any family.

Li Shengduo (1859- 1934), nicknamed Jiao Wei, was originally from Dehua County, Jiangxi Province. There are a bunch of books at home. Li Shengduo started reading classics at the age of 5, and bought books at the age of 12. The first book was The Complete Works of Mr. Wenshan published by Jingtai in Ming Dynasty. Since then, I have bought a large number of old books of famous bibliophiles such as Yuan, Haiyuange and Yang Yizeng, and they are all lying in the snow. Li Changchun settled in Yangzhou when he served as an imperial adviser in the south of the Yangtze River, which can also be called a half Yangzhou person. In the 19th year of Guangxu (1893), Yangzhou apartment caught fire, and more than 200 books were reduced to ashes, most of which were rare books collected by Ming people. The loss is so great that it is called "the literary legacy of Jiangzuo". This fire was called "Three Elders of Ancient Yangzhou Classics" because of the burning of 30,000 books by Sui Daye and the destruction of Wen Hui Pavilion in Xianfeng period of Qing Dynasty during the war. After the blessing of Muzhai Yangzhou Library, many of its existing collections are Yuan Zai's physical objects, with the words "Yuan Yin" and "Gu Tan Fu Yuan Wo Xue Lu Cang" on them. Cai Guihua's Yangzhou Modern Poetry Collection contains:

Zhu Rong went to the wooden village to hide, and Jiang Zuo sighed three times.

Li's book is full of snow, and his book is printed with rue.

Fang erqian (1872- 1936), whose real name is Dishan, was born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Fang's former residence is in this city street. He taught literature and history in Anhui and Beijing, and then moved to Tianjin. Fang loved books all his life, and once won the book Ningshun, which is called "one" relative to Huang Pilie's Hundred Books. There are two kinds of manuscripts of Wang Shizhen, which are extremely precious. Fang claimed that there were many books in the preface of "You You Shi", but realized that there were many small books in the room, and Yangzhou was locked in ten empty rooms, which made him homesick. 1925, the famous scholar Lun Ming visited his residence, and Erlian displayed his collection of rare books, which was dizzying. Er Qian's books are not kept secret from others like old book collectors. His poem "Poems" says: "Every ten years, there must be five books, some of which are not. Lending people is really a good thing. I dare say that I am with my body. "What an enlightened view of the existence, gains and losses, sale and lending of books. Fangdishan is from Yangzhou. Fang Erqian claimed to be one of the famous bibliophiles in modern Yangzhou. According to the Chronicle of Poetry since 19 1 1 year:

In the old days, mountains were luxurious, and there was beauty among books.

Ten years of news from Jinmen, bald men beg for food and ask people.

Note: Yangzhou Mountain is modest, extravagant and poetic, and became a master and apprentice with Yuan. It is salty in the north and shipped to Huaiyang after Xinhai, so the land is very rich, and calligraphy and painting ancient books are stored for generations. After moving to Guinness, the situation became more and more embarrassing and everyone was exhausted. More than ten years ago, I learned about it in the Golden Gate Bookstore, so I made a detour and showed it in a rare book. There are two kinds of manuscripts written by Yu Yangshan people: one is to comment on the poems written by his uncle Jim, many of which are smeared with sentences, which are called dyeing Zhong Tan Xi; The remnant draft of "The Story of Nantai" was later edited by Huang. I have tried my best to read books, but I have to live on small debts every day. This year, I am over 70 years old. In addition, Cai Guihua's Yangzhou Modern Poetry Collection contains:

Five books in ten years, smiling face is more worthy of the name.

Sincere and open-minded, the city of green sun has no corner.

The scriptures in Dunhuang Tibetan Scripture Cave were stolen by Stein and Boccio successively. Bad luck is associated with bad luck. After being handed over to the academic department and before being handed over to the Shi Jing Library for preservation, the fate of the stolen collection did not end. After discovering that foreigners stole the treasures, Xie made further investigation and confirmation. The transfer of our company was handled by the newly transferred Gansu Francisco and acting governor He. He ordered Chen Zefan, the magistrate of Dunhuang, to check the remaining scriptures and send them to Lanzhou. On behalf of He, accept this volume and transport it back to Beijing by cart. Although these collections were left behind by Stein and Pelliot after looting, after all, there are more than 8,000 pieces, a considerable number. However, no one can imagine how painful the journey from Dunhuang to Beijing will be.

1On August 22nd, 909, nine years after the discovery of the Dunhuang Sutra Cave, the Ministry of Education of the Qing government sent a telegram to allocate 6,000 taels of silver to search for the Dunhuang suicide note. No.47 "Wen Yi" in Dunhuang County records: "The Ministry of Education searched it, and our county cooperated with the school hall to spread it to the gentry and people, and tried its best to search it in the cave to protect the provincial wall. When Taoist Wang was in charge of the Tibetan Sutra Cave, the outflow of the collection was carried out in secret, and only a few people knew something about it. Now, Beijing's orders and Lanzhou's implementation have made the priceless treasures in the Tibetan Sutra Cave public, and everyone knows that Dunhuang paper is priceless. A guerrilla war aimed at acquiring Tibetan scriptures and caves has been widely launched. From Dunhuang to Beijing, it became the frontier position to plunder Dunhuang scriptures. 19 10 In March and April, Dunhuang County loaded the first batch of 6004 Dunhuang suicide notes to be shipped. On the way from Dunhuang to Beijing, these suicide notes were lost because of theft. The cart carrying the scriptures left the Tibetan Sutra Cave and first arrived in Dunhuang County. The guard parked the car outside the official yamen, and everyone went in for dinner. When eating and drinking indoors, people outside the door take scrolls from the cart. The escort turned a blind eye to what happened outside the door and pretended not to know anything. The person in charge of entertaining the escort and the person holding the paper outside the door are actually accomplices. Starting from Dunhuang, passing through Jiuquan, Gao Tai, Zhangye, Yongdeng, Lanzhou, Lanzhou and Dingxi, the scrolls were lost all the way, and thieves often used similar methods. People who are interested in Dunhuang papers and have the opportunity to steal them are all local elites, local officials, celebrities and squires all have their own income. Dunhuang papers became a hot commodity for a while, and officials in Dunhuang and even Gansu, and even soldiers from all walks of life, took pleasure in getting Dunhuang papers. In fact, how many people participated in the theft and how many books were lost along the way has become an eternal mystery.

The remains of Dunhuang, which Gansu sent to Beijing, arrived in Beijing, and the cart carrying the scriptures was not brought into the courtyard of the academic department, but into the mansion of his son He. He summoned his father-in-law, bibliophile Li Shengduo, and Li's in-laws Liu and Fang Erqian, and made a careful selection. The selected products were collected in his study. At the beginning, after receiving instructions from Beijing, the governor of Shaanxi but Gansu sent a box of Tibetan scriptures to Beijing as a sample, with a list attached. There is no detailed catalogue in this list, only a rough total. The Beijing Department only knows the total number of books, without specific book names and words. So these people took some fine products and tore a roll into two or three parts to meet the number of reported stocks. Li, Liu and Fang were academic celebrities at that time. Fang Erqian is a native of Yangzhou, a screen friend of Yuan Shikai, and a younger brother of Yuan, so his children are in-laws. Li Shengduo, a native of Jiangxi, was once an envoy to Japan and a famous bibliophile. According to the catalogue of papers sold by Li and his family later, it can be seen that Li Shengduo robbed four or five hundred papers at that time, and he hid more. Because he died early and gave most books as gifts to relatives and friends, how much he took away is still unknown. At present, some documents in Tokyo and more than 50 volumes of/kloc-0 in the Central Library of Taiwan Province Province are hidden by He and Li privately. Bao, the dean of the school, participated in the open fire theft. Because the Wuchang Uprising broke out and the Qing government collapsed, the matter went away. The Dunhuang Scriptures arrived in Beijing, and a new round of disasters began.
