If Notre Dame de Paris is a symbol of ancient Paris, then the Eiffel Tower standing on the east bank of the Seine River is a symbol of modern Paris. The tower was built in 1889 and is 320 meters high. Standing at the top of the tower, overlooking the whole city of Paris, it is known as the originator of modern towers.
