Jilin Railway Vocational and Technical College, located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, is a public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the people's government of Jilin Province, put on record by the Ministry of Education and managed by the Education Department of Jilin Province, aiming at cultivating high-quality, high-skilled and applied talents urgently needed for production, construction, management and service.

The school's predecessor was Jilin Railway Economic School (technical secondary school) founded by 1948 and Jilin Railway Transport Workers College founded by 1958. The two universities merged in June, 200012006, and were restructured into Jilin Railway Vocational and Technical College in February, 2006. It is the only higher vocational college with railway specialty in Jilin Province.

As of 20 14, the school covers an area of 870,000 square meters, with a building area of 238,000 square meters and total assets of nearly 1 1000 billion yuan. Nine departments and five departments, 942 1 full-time vocational students.
