Tianjin University of Commerce, formerly known as Tianjin Business School, was founded by the Ministry of Commerce and Tianjin Municipal People's Government on 1980. During the period of 1998, the management system was jointly established by the central and local governments, with local management as the mainstay. In 2007, it was renamed Tianjin University of Commerce. The school aims to build a high-level business university with distinctive characteristics and make contributions to rejuvenating the country through science and education. ?
The school's disciplines cover management, economics, engineering, law, literature, science, art and other disciplines. At present, it covers an area of 1.379 mu, with a building area of 557,000 square meters. Existing 15 colleges and universities, including business school, mechanical engineering college, biotechnology and food science college, economics college, information engineering college, law school, public administration college, foreign language college, TUC-FIU cooperative college, international education college, science college, art college, design college, higher vocational and continuing education college and Marxist college, have three foreign language teaching, basic course teaching and physical education.
There are also many research institutes (centers) such as Economic Research Institute, Marine Medicine and Food Research Institute, Refrigeration Research Institute, Commercial Comprehensive Design Research Institute, Modern Japan Research Institute, Economic Information Research Institute and Corporate Social Responsibility Research Center. There are 54 undergraduate majors and 68 master's programs in the school, including 9 master's programs in first-class disciplines and master's programs 10, with nearly 23,000 students, and the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 265 million yuan.
