Yunnan university library was founded in 1923. After 83 years of construction, yunnan university library has developed into a university library with rich collections, complete functions, reasonable layout and advanced facilities, which can reflect the characteristics of modern comprehensive university libraries.

I. Basic information

The school attaches great importance to the construction of modern library management. In the second phase of the Tenth Five-Year Plan, 3.386 million yuan was invested in the "2 1 1 project", which significantly improved the software and hardware of modern library management, fully realized computer automation management, implemented bibliographic data processing according to national and international standards, and realized full open lending of literature resources.

Through the second phase of the tenth five-year plan project, the library purchased the ilas software of Shenzhen Ketu Company through bidding, and realized the computer management of the whole library. In the Tenth Five-Year Plan, the total investment in the modernization of the "2 1/project" document information resources guarantee system was 3.386 million yuan, exceeding the total investment in modernization in the history of our library, and the equipment with more than110,000 yuan reached 226 1 10,000 yuan.

2. Fully Realizing Computer Automation Management Library In June, 20065438+0, the version of ilasii2.0, the library automation management system software of Shenzhen Ketu Company, was launched, and all the workflows such as book purchasing, cataloging, book reservation, borrowing, periodical management, reader's borrowing card handling, retrieval, inquiry and so on were realized by computer automation management. At present, there are 64 users of ilasii2.0, 0/00 computers in electronic reading room, 55 computers for business and 37 computers for readers' retrieval, and the total number of network information points has reached 350. There are 8 servers, which are respectively applied to ilasii library management system, library website, dhcp service, full-text database of Tsinghua academic journals, e-books and trial database.

3. Building a digital resource storage platform of 10.5tb The library has built a digital resource storage platform with a capacity of 10.5tb. The storage capacity and performance have always been in the forefront of the digital resource storage system in Yunnan Province, which can meet the storage and access requirements of digital literature resources in our university in recent years to some extent.

4. The standardization and standardization of literature work started from 200 1, and all the bibliographies in the library were catalogued by national and international standards, with cnmarc in Chinese and usmarc in western languages, which laid the foundation for the standardization and standardization of bibliographies and gradually traced back the data of traditional manual cataloging. As a member library of calis Center (China Higher Education Document Guarantee System), catalogers in our library can directly obtain cataloging data through online cataloging, which greatly improves the quality and efficiency of cataloging work and ensures the standardization of bibliographic data.

5. Initially realize the modern and humanized management mode. The library has reformed and built the internal network, improved the performance of the library local area network, increased information points, and provided 18 humanized free download terminals, 17 open retrieval computers, 48 sets of readers' information inquiry points and related supporting facilities for teachers and students. The whole library has covered the wireless network, providing convenient access for teachers and students with laptops. At the same time, combined with the school's "one card project", an access control system was set up to complete automatic library registration, traffic inquiry and identity authentication. Since May 2006, all books except basic collections and ancient books have been replaced with magnetic needles that can be charged and demagnetized, thus realizing the open services of "integration of books and periodicals" and "integration of lending", carrying out "listing service" among all librarians, actively accepting the supervision of readers and starting the "golden key".

6. Actively explore the management mode of sharing campus literature resources. The management mode of sharing literature resources between library and department reference room has entered the exploration stage. With the help of campus network platform, the networking and resource sharing system construction with higher education research institutes and biological base reference rooms has been completed, and the unified management of literature resource automation system in libraries and department reference rooms has been preliminarily tried and explored.

The use of the library is based on the tenet of "serving teachers and students, strengthening guarantee, improving efficiency and creating characteristics", and the service concept of "loving the post, being proficient in business, being considerate in service, taking the overall situation into account, being united and cooperative, and being active and enthusiastic", closely centering on the center of "serving the teaching and research of teachers and students in the whole school", and constantly improving work efficiency and service level, and fully tapping the potential.

In recent years, with the increasing investment in the construction of literature resources, the types and quantities of library literature resources have become more and more abundant, especially after adopting the management mode of "integration of books and periodicals" and "integration of borrowing and collecting", which greatly facilitates readers and deeply attracts teachers and students to use the library literature resources, and the amount of literature borrowing has increased year by year. From 2003 to 2006, paper books were borrowed 1720 1 volume every month, and the borrowing rate increased by nearly three times. The superstar e-book has been visited by 135 1 1 in March this year, with 30,426 readings and 48,203 downloads. The number of readers and photo albums using paper periodicals has decreased, while the utilization rate of electronic periodicals has increased rapidly, and more and more readers use electronic resources. The complementarity of paper documents and electronic resources provides readers with diversified and comprehensive literature information resources. According to the characteristics of books borrowed by readers, the ten categories of books used by readers in our school are I, F, K, tp, D, H, O, B, C and G, among which the borrowing volume of the top ten categories is 862,244, accounting for 9 1% of the total borrowing volume. Among them, the borrowing rate of books in the key disciplines of history and ethnology in our school ranks in the top ten. Yunnan University is a comprehensive university, so readers can borrow a wide range of books with strong pertinence. F, K, tp, D, B, O, C and G are eight categories, with professional books as the main ones, and the lending volume is 520,850, accounting for 54. 14% of the total lending volume. Class H is a book for basic courses, with a borrowing volume of 6993 1, accounting for 7.03% of the total borrowing volume, especially the English level test tutorial books are most popular among students. The first category is mainly literary books, with the highest borrowing rate, accounting for 29.33% of the total borrowing volume, indicating that readers pay more attention to improving their literary literacy. To sum up, readers in our school still use literature mainly by learning and research, and learning and research readers are dominant. At the same time, literature collection plays an important role in students' quality education.

2. The utilization rate of network information resources is high. At present, our library has 433,369 e-books, 5 Chinese databases and 10 foreign databases. Network database resources are open to teachers and students 24 hours a day through the library homepage. These electronic resources provide powerful literature information support for scientific research, teaching and key discipline construction, which are well received by teachers and students and radiated to the whole province, resulting in good social benefits. According to incomplete statistics, in recent two years, the cumulative download volume of Chinese academic journals in our school alone has reached nearly 2 million, 467,000 elsevier full-text documents, 36,000 kluwer full-text documents, 6,543.8+0.6 million acs full-text documents, 6,543.8+0.3 million proquest full-text documents and 22,000 john wiley full-text documents. In 2005, the number of visits to our oclc database ranked fourth among the users of 99 oclc universities in China ~!
