Nanchang Hangkong University has two campuses, namely Qianhu Campus and Shanghai Road Campus. Shanghai Road Campus is located at Shanghai Road 173, Qingshan Lake District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and Qianhu Campus is located at 696 Han Feng Avenue, Xinjian District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province.
On May 28th, 2003, the main body of the first phase project of Qianhu Campus was capped. On February 23rd, 65438, Nanchang Institute of Aeronautical Technology was recognized as an independent college. On July 2, 2004, the school began to implement a two-level management system. The school was formerly known as Hankou Aviation Industry School founded by 1952, moved to Nanchang in August, 1954, changed to Nanchang Industrial School in August, 1955, changed to Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry in October, 1956, changed to Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry in October, 1978 and changed its name to Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry in 2007.
On March 6, 2007, the Ministry of Education officially approved the school to be renamed Nanchang Hangkong University. On September 13, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense formally signed an agreement to establish Nanchang Hangkong University. 1October 30th, 1953+65438, the Fourth Bureau of the Second Machinery Department informed that it decided to relocate the school to Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, and instructed the school to make preparations immediately and send people to choose the site.
