Beverly Cleary 19 16 was born in Oregon, USA. Influenced by her mother as a librarian, she loves reading. From an early age, she was determined to write some books about interesting childhood stories and children around her. Beverly's inspiration mostly comes from her daily life experience and surrounding environment.

Her books have won her many famous awards, among which Dear Mr. Han Xiu won the newbury Children's Literature Gold Award with 1984 and the most outstanding contribution award in American literature with 1983. Three works in Forever lamela Series won the Silver Award of newbury Children's Literature Award and the National Book Award of the United States respectively.

Writing experience

1950, with ten years' experience as a librarian and a children's librarian, Clary wrote and published her first children's novel, Henry Huggins. This book was very popular as soon as it was published, and then many stories about Henry and the little dog were published, which became a set of children's literature classics.

The "Ramona" series, featuring Henry's sister Ramona, was published in 1970s, which became a popular children's book and won many adult readers. This series of writing continued until 1999. Besides Ribis, Ralph the dog, a mouse, is probably the most famous animal in her works.
