Chongqing, a city with two sides, was particularly noticeable during the Anti-Japanese War. Not only are there diaojiaolou, Chuanjiang house, hot pot and long-standing dock culture in the rivers and lakes, but also major periodicals, newspapers, universities and large libraries have come to Chongqing to build stations, making this small western town a famous cultural city in China. After the Anti-Japanese War, in order to commemorate Chongqing's meritorious service as a wartime capital, * * * set the construction project of Roosevelt's aid library in Chongqing. At that time, Shanghai, Wuhan, Nanjing and Xi were competing at the same time. This sought-after library is the predecessor of Chongqing Library-Roosevelt Library. The only library named after a foreign president in China was the National Central Library during the Anti-Japanese War. On the eve of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, American President Roosevelt, who had helped China for a long time, died suddenly because of cerebral hemorrhage, and people spontaneously held a memorial service. 1 month later, with the unanimous consent of the National People's Congress, a special library for President Roosevelt was built in Chongqing, which was directly named "Roosevelt Library". The library is rich in books and its precious materials are world-renowned. In the 1950s, the collection of books reached more than 654.38+10,000 volumes, ranking among the best, making it one of the only five libraries in China. Among them, it not only has a large collection of ancient rare books, cultural relics during the Republic of China, anti-Japanese books during the Anti-Japanese War, and United Nations depository materials, but also is one of the depository libraries designated by the United Nations. There is also a collection of scrolls inscribed by President Roosevelt, which was brought to Chongqing by US Vice President Wallace during his visit to China in June. 1944 conveyed President Roosevelt's cordial condolences to the people in Shancheng. The library officially opened on May 1947, and for a time, readers from the whole city and even the whole country came in droves. According to records, from the opening of the museum to February of that year, the number of visitors in the museum was as high as 176462, which was already a very large number of visitors in those years when the educational level was not high. It is conceivable that it is a wonderful and rare thing to study in the Roosevelt Library with exquisite design and strong atmosphere. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the library was renamed several times. After liberation, it was officially renamed Chongqing Library and continued to expand. In the 20th century, Roosevelt's granddaughter Anne Roosevelt came to Chongqing. She not only visited the library named after her grandfather, but also donated a set of information about President Roosevelt and his wife to the library. A few years later, she came to Chongqing again and presented her grandfather Roosevelt's head to the library again. There are only four large comprehensive libraries named after President Roosevelt in the world, and Chongqing Roosevelt Library is the only one that has received a bronze statue of Roosevelt. This shows his friendly attitude towards China and his praise and recognition of China's efforts in the anti-fascist war. A library has witnessed the friendship between the two countries and the development and changes of Chongqing. Up to now, Chongqing Library is still one of the only two United Nations depository libraries in China, and the other is the Beijing Library, which enjoys a world-renowned reputation for its unique United Nations materials and anti-Japanese war books. Roosevelt library has re-entered people's field of vision with a brand-new look. Roosevelt Library is located at the intersection of two roads and Changjiang Road. Built by mountains and rivers, surrounded by blue bricks and green trees, it is unpretentious. But because of disrepair, it has long lost its former glory, so we can only look for the remains of filar silk culture from the old site and recall the prosperous scene in the open period. However, there will always be new ways for history to remember that this once Chongqing cultural highland copied the Roosevelt Library to Liangjiang International Film and Television City with a brand-new look. A branch of the former National Roosevelt Library has been set up here, and visitors can come here to have a look at the old library of the Republic of China during the liberation period. The branch of Liangjiang Film and Television City just opened this year 1 month, and several large black letters "National Roosevelt Library" on the white building stand out. All the books in the museum are not fiction, and there should be more than 2,000 biographies, philosophies, political economy, classic literature, life care, as well as books on the history of the Republic of China, the local cultural tour of Chongqing, and the home front of the Anti-Japanese War, so that visitors can have a reading experience in the museum. Really experience the Republic of China-style library and create a perfect "one-stop experience area for exhibition reading" for tourists. The deep integration of culture and tourism to create a brand-new cultural tourism project is not only a remapping of the characteristics of Liangjiang International Film and Television City, but also the regeneration of Roosevelt Library. This new development not only provides strong cultural support for tourist areas, but also gives new life to ancient cultural symbols that are gradually forgotten by people. Together with our predecessors, we should remember and cherish the memory of such a messenger of peace-President Roosevelt, who loved peace, contributed to the anti-fascist war and helped War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and China.
