Huazhong University of Science and Technology Wuchang Branch is now Wuchang Shouyi College. It is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and an innovative university operating in accordance with the new mechanism and model in China's modern education development system. The school, formerly known as Huazhong University of Science and Technology Wuchang Branch, was officially renamed Wuchang Shouyi College on June 20 15.

School profile

Wuchang Shouyi College is one of the first independent colleges in China. Established with the approval of the Ministry of Education in August 2000, it was jointly established by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan Wei Jun Cultural Communication Group. The school was originally named Wei Jun College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and was renamed Wuchang Branch of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in March of the following year. It was renamed on May 20 15.

The school is located in Nanhu Lake, Wuchang. Now it covers an area of 1000 mu, with a total construction area of 590,000 square meters. The modern teaching and living facilities system is perfect. There are beautiful flowers and elegant environment on campus. The number of students in school is more than 65,438 +0.3 million. There are nearly a thousand faculty members, including 709 full-time teachers. There are 246 teachers with senior titles and above, and 396 teachers with graduate education.

Teaching construction

By the end of 2065438+June 2005, the school had sent 45,000 college graduates to the country and society. The one-time employment rate of graduates reaches more than 85% every year; 393 people were admitted as civil servants by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Construction. 498 people were admitted to Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Science and Technology, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China Communication University and other domestic universities to pursue master's degrees, and 40 people were admitted to foreign universities such as London, Imperial College London, Nagoya University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In the national and provincial competitions such as the National Mathematical Modeling Competition, the National Zhou Peiyuan College Students' Mechanics Competition, national english contest for college students, robot contest, and the Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, 160 people won numerous prizes, among which 14 people won the first prize in the national competition and 18 people won the first prize in the provincial competition.
