Since the establishment of Xi Academy of Fine Arts, its construction and development have always been closely linked with the development of fine arts education and culture and art in New China. Several generations of western and American countries have taken root in the yellow land, and on the basis of inheriting the tradition and digging deep into the connotation of education and teaching, they have paid attention to reform and innovation and opened up a new direction of education and teaching. Xi Academy of Fine Arts has made remarkable achievements in art education, art creation and art theory since its establishment 65 years ago. Since the reform and opening up, Xi Academy of Fine Arts has taken educating people as the foundation, teaching as the center, teachers as the main body, quality as its life, and prosperity of culture as its responsibility, adhering to the spirit of "striving for strength and pursuing Excellence", adhering to the school motto of "promoting beauty and virtue, borrowing the past to open up the present", giving full play to regional advantages and highlighting the characteristics of the western region, and taking the lead in bringing calligraphy and Quyi into classroom teaching. At present, the college has the right to award doctoral degrees in three first-class disciplines, namely, art theory, art and design, and the right to award master's degrees in first-class disciplines, as well as the training qualifications of Master of Arts (MFA) and university teachers studying for master's degrees and the right to apply for master's degrees with equivalent academic qualifications. The college has always attached importance to foreign exchange and cooperation in running schools. During the period of 1998, our institute established the studio of Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts in Paris, France. Up to now, more than 100 teachers have gone to Paris Studio for further study, which has played a positive role in broadening teachers' artistic horizons, improving teaching quality, enriching teaching content and spreading China culture. Since 2003, our college has successively signed formal exchange agreements with 22 foreign and overseas art colleges, including the National Academy of Fine Arts, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, university of the arts london and Sofia Art College. At present, our institute has carried out long-term exchanges and cooperation with the above-mentioned exchange institutions at different levels and in different projects.
