Beijing Institute of Technology, formerly known as the Academy of Natural Sciences, was founded in Yan 'an 1940. After the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region Industrial School and North China University Engineering College were successfully established, they were set up in Beijing on 1949, taking over the headquarters of Sino-French University and the three departments of mathematical physics and chemistry. 1952 was named Beijing Institute of Technology, and 1988 was renamed Beijing Institute of Technology.
As of 202 1, 1, the school covers an area of 1.88 million square meters, the building area is1.80 million square meters, the library has 277 1.7 million books, and the total fixed assets are 6.987 billion yuan.
