China Securities Market Design and Research Center, formerly known as "Joint Office of Research and Design of Stock Exchanges", was established on March 1989 15. It is a non-profit, non-governmental and membership-based institution sponsored and funded by nine national non-bank financial institutions and supported by the relevant competent departments of the China Municipal Government, with the director-general responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors.

Twenty years ago, in response to the needs of reform, the liaison office actively participated in the drafting of China's securities law and company law, participated in the design and preparation of Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, organized and implemented the first trial of issuance and underwriting of government bonds, and served as the "general coordinator" of issuance and underwriting of government bonds for three consecutive years, which played an important role in promoting the creation and development of China's capital market.
