What are the components of pigment printing paste?
The main components of pigment printing paste are pigment paste, adhesive, crosslinking agent, thickener (or synthetic thickener) and other additives.

(1) paint paste.

It is made of pigment, dispersant, wetting agent and water through mechanical grinding. Pigments, including inorganic pigments, organic pigments and fluorescent resins, are the colored parts of pigment printing.

(2) adhesive. It is a kind of polymer film, which covers the fabric surface with pigment, fixes the color on the fabric surface, and plays the role of fixing the paint color.

(3) Crosslinking agent.

Its function in printing paste is crosslinking, which makes linear adhesive molecules form a network structure, makes the film elastic and improves the dyeing fastness. The dosage of crosslinking agent should be properly controlled. The increase of dosage is beneficial to the improvement of dyeing fastness, while excessive dosage is unfavorable to the handle of fabric.

(4) thickener. It plays a carrier role in pigment printing, so that pigment adhesive and other additives are evenly dispersed and transferred to knitted fabrics. Thickeners used include emulsified paste and synthetic thickener. The main problem of synthetic thickener in use is that it is not resistant to electrolyte, which will dilute the printing paste, reduce the viscosity, penetrate into the printing pattern and affect the printing effect. Synthetic thickener can be used in full-color printing production. Attention should be paid to the electrolyte contained in the printing paste of anti-printing discharge paint.
