Generally, a deposit will be charged when you apply for a library card in a larger library. You will also get a receipt. The deposit is on your card and the book you borrowed. If you don't want a card, you can apply for cancellation in your own library with the receipt and library card. The librarian will refund the deposit to you. But don't damage other people's books!
