Dali University was founded in 1978.

Dali University, referred to as PolyU, is located in Dali City, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It has been selected as a pilot university in the "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education. It is a provincial and state institution of higher education. It has advantages in medicine, pharmacy, education and biology, featuring ethnology and art.

At the same time, it is a comprehensive undergraduate school with interdisciplinary integration and multi-level coordinated development. The school, formerly known as Dali Medical College and Dali Normal College, was founded in 1978. 200 1 10 Approved by the Ministry of Education, Dali Medical College and Dali Normal College merged to form Dali College.

Dali Industrial School and Yunnan Radio and TV University Dali Branch merged into a school. In 2003, it was approved as a master's degree awarding unit. On April 29th, 20 15, the school was officially renamed Dali College. 202 1, approved as a doctoral degree awarding unit. As of April 2023, the school has two campuses, Gucheng and Shimonoseki.

The campus covers an area of more than 2,300 mu with a building area of 550,000 square meters. There are 19 secondary colleges and research institutes, 10 affiliated hospitals and 72 undergraduate majors. There are 1 doctoral degree authorization points, 8 first-level discipline master degree authorization points and 15 master degree authorization points; There are more than 22,000 full-time students.
