Sichuan University Library is the southwest regional center of China Higher Education Document Guarantee System (CALIS), the southwest regional center of China Academic Humanities and Social Sciences Library, the liberal arts document information center of the Ministry of Education, the CASHL Sichuan University Digital Resource Center of the Sino-British book digitization international cooperation project, and the sci-tech novelty retrieval workstation of the Ministry of Education. In addition, the Secretariat of the Library and Information Work Committee of Sichuan University and the Professional Committee of Resource Construction and Sharing of Sichuan Library Society are also located in this library. There are mainly the following branches: In March 2004, combined with the construction of the new campus library, the "Digital Library Construction Project of Sichuan University" was launched, and the school allocated a special fund of150,000 yuan for the construction of the software and hardware environment and application system of the digital library. Sichuan University Digital Library is an open distributed digital information resource network system, and its core components include the following parts: portal system, library automation management system, comprehensive document service system, storage backup system, VOD system and other application service systems. The data system of digital library adopts the advanced storage area network (SAN) recognized by IT industry to build the storage system, and the core information system adopts cluster management software for dual-computer hot backup to ensure the stable operation of core services. A physically independent intranet of 1000M was established between the libraries in the three campuses, and then interconnected with the campus network Internet through a high-speed firewall. The network among the four libraries in Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiang 'an campuses is high-speed, smooth, safe and reliable.

Aleph500 (version 16) and METALIB/SFX from Israel's EX LIBRIS Company were introduced, realizing the unified, automated and integrated management of four branches in three campuses. Using the library automation integration system, the automatic management of interview, cataloging, reservation, reading, circulation, periodicals and information retrieval has been realized, and various online services such as online bibliographic retrieval, real-time collection inquiry, new book release, reservation, renewal, personalized service, joint cataloging, interlibrary loan and so on have been carried out through the Internet. The network database provides 24-hour network retrieval service for all teachers and students.

In order to improve the service quality and management level, the library has also actively carried out scientific research and academic exchange activities, undertaken a number of national, provincial and university-level scientific research projects, published a number of academic monographs and papers, and hosted various large-scale academic research exchange meetings.

Our library has established exchange, gift or loan relations with more than 0/00 libraries and research institutes in China and more than 70 libraries in 36 countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, France, Russia and Japan. At the same time, we often receive donations from celebrities and institutions at home and abroad who care about the cause of university libraries. The library of arts and sciences, engineering library and medical library mainly provide professional and academic documents, while the library of Jiang 'an Campus mainly provides basic documents and documents needed by the first and second grades. In order to adapt to the discipline construction of the school and the cultivation of doctors, masters and undergraduates, various general and special reading rooms and stacks are set up at different levels and according to disciplines. There are 35 special reading rooms in the branches of literature, science, medicine and engineering, and the newly-built Jiangan branch library implements a reader-centered service model of "collecting, borrowing, reading and consulting". There are 823 1 reading seats; 6 multimedia reading rooms, 57 1 seat. Reading rooms and major Chinese and foreign book libraries implement open-shelf service.
