Brief introduction to the contents of the bloody battle in Okinawa in the Pacific Ocean
1 April 944 10, at the final stage of the new Britain campaign, I was honored to take over and direct the Marine Corps13rd Battalion, 5th Regiment of the (enhanced) Division. New Britain is the second military operation of this unit. But we didn't know at the time that it would face two other battles: Peleliu and Okinawa. Each time is more intense and costly than the previous two. After leaving New Britain for the "rest camp" in Pavuvu, Russell Islands, we started comprehensive training to prepare for the "confrontation action" on Peleliu Island in Palau Islands in the future. This action is little known or praised, but it is indeed one of the bloodiest and hardest battles in the Pacific War.
