History of Xuchang Museum
The new Xuchang Museum is located in the south area of Xuchang Wenbo Museum at the intersection of Xudu Road and Wisdom Avenue in Dongcheng District, Xuchang City. 2011May was completed and put into use as a national second-class museum. The museum (including the underground cultural relics warehouse) has a construction area of 2 1384.75 square meters, and is a provincial-level large museum, which is divided into three floors, each with a height of 7.2 meters.

The old museum is located in Wenfeng Tower of Ming Dynasty in the middle section of Wenfeng Road in Xuchang City. The new museum broke ground in September 1986 and opened to the public in October/kloc-0. The building was built on the basis of Wenfeng Pagoda in Ming Dynasty, a provincial cultural relics protection unit in Henan Province, with an area of10.4 million square meters and a building area of 5,366 square meters. It was completed at the end of February. The museum is novel in shape and unique in style. The exhibition hall of the exhibition area is two U-shaped symmetrical north and south, with pavilions and cloisters connected in the middle, forming three open courtyards. The museum is novel in shape and unique in style, including the gate, showroom, cloister, pavilion, building, pavilion, Han portrait gallery and so on. It's a group of antique garden-style buildings with a combination of North and South styles. With the east-west center line of Wenfeng Tower as the axis, the gate is in the middle, and the exhibition hall and cultural relics warehouse are distributed in two U-shaped courtyards symmetrical in the north and south, which are connected by cloisters. Grey tiles and blue roofs, red paint dyed columns, cornices and horns, which are in harmony with the height of Wenfeng Tower, are integrated and shining.

Collection is the foundation of museum management activities. In order to give full play to its due role, Xuchang Museum classifies 6,304 cultural relics in its collection into 13 categories according to the actual situation, namely, pottery, porcelain, rubbings, calligraphy and painting, ancient books, bronzes, coins, irons, stone tools, stone carvings, bricks and tiles, jade articles and miscellaneous items. The collections with the characteristics of this museum are bricks and tiles, especially medium-sized non-hollowed portrait bricks, porcelain and bronzes. Typical artifacts are: (1) the portrait brick of "going to eat horses in Taicang". Bricks in the Han Dynasty are long, with a palace gate and a gate on the right. There is an official with a halberd in the palace gate and an evergreen tree outside. There is a bird in the tree: there is a chariot and a horse on the left. It is near the gate. Above the horses and chariots, there is a list of questions, "People eat in Taicang". (2) "Rich and auspicious in the young age" brick. Bricks in the Han dynasty are long, and there is a double convex string seal script in the square, "Yang is rich and auspicious". (3) copper beryllium alloy. Beryllium in the Warring States period has a short body, a narrow front and a sharp front. Wax is a long, pointed triangle engraved with "Thirty sons of Han ……" and a flat stem. (4) The white glazed bottle has a horn seat with a lotus mouth. In the Song Dynasty, the bottle was a trumpet-shaped lotus mouth, with a thin neck and a bulging belly, with a sub-waist-shaped trumpet foot under it and white glaze all over. Xuchang Museum has always adhered to the aim of taking social benefits as the center, tried every means to improve the conditions of running the museum, constantly changed the internal environment and improved the external service level. Precious cultural relics, rich exhibitions and beautiful environment attract a large number of tourists, especially teenagers, to visit the museum every year. Xuchang Museum has become a "window of civilization" and a beautiful landscape in Xuchang City, and was named as an excellent patriotic education base in Henan Province by Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau.

Xuchang Museum was established in July, 1965, and it was co-located with the then Xuchang Area Mass Art Museum. 1985 moved to wenfeng road, Xuchang city, and 1988 officially opened to the public on 1 month. The original building covers an area of 2 1 1,000 square meters, with the Wenfeng Tower in Xuchang, a Ming Dynasty building, as the central axis, and the north and south are symmetrical. Wenfeng Pagoda, also known as Wen Ming Temple Pagoda, is a national key cultural relic protection unit, which was founded in the 43rd year of Wanli (A.D. 16 15). The tower is 50.03 meters high and is an octagonal 13-story pavilion, which is the crown of brick towers in Ming Dynasty in Henan Province.

Since the establishment of Xuchang Museum, the organization has been gradually improved, the team building has been continuously strengthened, and the collection, protection and research of cultural relics have been widely carried out. There are more than 40,000 important cultural relics in the museum, such as ceramics, bronzes, coins, bricks and stones of Chinese portraits. At the same time, make full use of these cultural relics for exhibition publicity and social education, and constantly update the exhibition content and improve the exhibition taste according to the needs of the development of the times. More than 300 temporary exhibitions, including Basic Chen Zhan, Han and Wei Cultural Relics Exhibition, Xuchang Historical Literature Exhibition, Xuchang Han Portrait Decoration Art Exhibition, Xuchang Tobacco Exhibition, Xuchang Coin Exhibition and Contemporary Celebrity Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, have been held successively, receiving more than 6 million visitors.

20 1 1 In May, Xuchang Wenbo Museum, which integrates museums, libraries and planning exhibition halls, was completed and opened in Dongcheng District, Xuchang City. The whole building of the museum has four floors, with a height of 24 meters and a construction area of 53,000 square meters. With its unique shape, heavy wall, imitation Han roof, light and transparent glass curtain wall and strong contrast between reality and reality, it has cast the spiritual temperament of architecture in the new era, embodied the dynamic image of the new Xuchang, displayed its unique cultural charm and conveyed splendid historical civilization. Among the three museums, Xuchang Museum occupies the largest area of 22,000 square meters, including 2,600 square meters of warehouse, 2,500 square meters of office area and 6,000 square meters of exhibition hall, with six basic exhibition halls and a multifunctional temporary exhibition hall.
