Guangzhou Medical College (now called Guangzhou Medical University) is one institution, not two.

Guangzhou Medical University is a 2 1 1 key construction university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Government. It is a high-level medical research university in Guangdong Province.

The school was founded in 1958, formerly known as South China Medical College, and renamed Guangzhou Medical University in 2004. It is one of the first seven medical universities established in China. The school is located in Renhe Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, covering an area of about 3 100 mu, and the library has more than 2.9 million books.

Guangzhou Medical University focuses on medicine, and other disciplines have gradually developed. Now there are 24 full-time undergraduate majors, covering medicine, medical treatment, dentistry, nursing, public health and other related fields.
