Lanzhou Vocational College of Resources and Environment is a public undergraduate vocational college which integrates the resources of Changqing College of Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics and Lanzhou Vocational College of Resources and Environment, and is approved by the Ministry of Education and Gansu Provincial Government. The school was formerly known as Lanzhou Meteorological School (founded in 195 1) and Gansu Coal Workers College (founded in 1984), which belongs to Gansu Coal Industry Bureau.

The school has 20473 full-time students, including 3988 undergraduates and 6485 junior college students/kloc-0. At present, there are 4 campuses, 1 production-education demonstration park, covering an area of 2,307 mu, with a building area of 433,700 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 302.54 million yuan. There are 2 off-campus practice training bases and 2 on-campus training rooms, and the library collection is jointly built with the government and enterprises.

"Double-qualified" teachers account for 79.8% of full-time teachers in specialized courses. 1 teacher won the title of "March 8th Red Flag Bearer" in China, 1 teacher won the National Excellent Educator, 1 teacher won the National Huang Yanpei Excellent Teacher Award for Vocational Education, 4 teachers won the Provincial Famous Teachers, 2 teachers were awarded the Provincial Model Workers, and 10 teacher won the Provincial Garden Award.
