What is a picture book?
Definition:

Picture books, called picture books in English, are "drawing books" as the name implies. In other words, it refers to a kind of book with painting as the main part and a small amount of words.

Tracing back to history:

Picture books can be traced back to China. Maybe the early Japanese drew a lot of China Buddhist scriptures. (Hokkekyo) As a picture book, a picture book is actually a picture book. In order to avoid confusion with books, I am used to using this term imported from Japan.

Development:

Picture books were born in Europe in the17th century. In 1930s, the mainstream of picture books spread to America, and picture books ushered in a golden age. In 1950s and 1960s, South Korea and Japan began to develop picture books, and in 1970s, Taiwan Province Province also began to read picture books, which subsequently triggered a picture book reading craze. Picture books can not only tell stories and learn knowledge, but also help children build up their spirit and cultivate multiple intelligences. In the 2 1 century, picture book reading has become a fashion for children all over the world.
