Bagongfu is special, not because it is a century-old house built in 19 10, nor because its owner is the Banov brothers, the largest Russian tea merchant in the mainland after Hankou opened, and the two brothers are relatives of Russian Tsar Nicholas I, mainly because the unique architectural structure and geographical location of this old house are rare in China, but also because the tenants are all foreign public servants in the five major concessions.
This once famous eight public houses is now mottled and full of vicissitudes. At present, it is classified as "Hankou historical and cultural block". In order to protect this century-old building, the whole building of Bagong Building, which is like a train, is tightly surrounded by walls, and all the residents are vacated, leaving the building empty and the courtyard door locked and inaccessible.
The former site of the "August 7th" meeting opposite Bagong's home (the former residence of Luo Zhuolov, the agricultural transportation consultant of the former Soviet Union) is visited from time to time. The Bunker Western Restaurant and other shops near Bagong's home are busy and very lively.
