Wu Jiguang is the head of the Department of Architecture. He has many original ideas about architecture. At the beginning, he strongly recommended building a library. Jiangnan University Library was founded in 1926, and its predecessor was Yuelu Academy Library, which was founded in the Song Dynasty.

The honorary chairman of this university is Mr. Rong Yiren, who donated money to build the public library of Jiangnan University and set up public scholarships to contribute to the construction of this university.
