Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Information was established in 1958. It is a comprehensive information research and document service unit, one of the largest scientific and technological intelligence agencies in China, and a member of the National Cooperation Center of the Asia-Pacific Scientific and Technological Information Exchange Network. 1995 merged with Shanghai Library to become the first provincial or municipal library and information consortium in China.
