Ancient Greek Libraries in the History of Western Libraries
In ancient Greece, literature and science flourished, and tyrants and scholars owned books. In the 4th century BC, various schools of philosophy appeared in Athens. Plato and Aristotle both have large private libraries. According to Straben, a scholar of ancient Greek history and geography, Aristotle's large collection of books was easy to find and experienced many vicissitudes. Later, it was brought back to Rome as a trophy by L.C. Sura, and the politician M.T. Cicero had the opportunity to appreciate these books. On the ruins of ancient Greece, the remains of sports schools and medical college libraries were also found.
