The first library is located in the north campus of Southwest University. The building is divided into old and new parts. The old library, built in 1965, mainly provides library lending service, free reading for normal students and electronic reading room service. Out of the old library, there are two rows of newspaper columns, one side is the library lecture hall, which provides audio-visual screening services, ball games and foreign original movies. The second museum is located in the south campus of Southwest University, next to the College of Biotechnology of Southwest University.
The third library is the Rongchang Campus Library of Southwest University, formerly known as the Library of Sichuan Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College, which was founded in 1960. After several mergers, it was renamed the Rongchang Campus Library of Southwest University. The existing library covers an area of 4,370 square meters, with 300,000 volumes of paper documents, covering natural science, social science and other disciplines, with emphasis on books related to agriculture, biology, medicine and other disciplines set up in the school. There are also 69 Chinese and foreign databases, including VIP Chinese Sci-tech Periodical Database, China Sci-tech Periodical Citation Database, Scholar E-book Database, Founder Appaby E-book Database, Superstar E-book Database, etc., containing about 4.06 million digital documents.
