First, print all the inner pages (single-sided printing) with the wide printer in the school studio, then cut the edges according to the bleeding line and fold them in half. Use a hard ruler to flatten the hem and scrape the side a few times. Then stick double-sided adhesive on the blank part behind each page, and align it with the front cover and back cover in turn. When gluing, try to aim at the spine side first, because you can't cut the spine when looking for trimming. After gluing, there will be unevenness on each side, which needs to be cut neatly with tools. After cutting, each side will be smaller by a few millimeters, so the corners of the picture have no important content and are likely to be cut off.
Such a simple inner page is ready ~
② Calculate the spine width and make a hard-shell cover.
The hard shell on the front cover and the back cover is about 2mm thick. It is found on the Internet that the paper thickness of 170gsm is about 0.2 12 mm, so the spine width is = 40x0.212+4 =12.48 (approximately equal to 13).
Then I finally set the spine to 15 mm, and I left a distance of about 10mm on the left and right sides of the spine to facilitate the expansion of the picture book. For example, the size of my picture book is 210mx2 10mm square, so the length of a whole cover+back cover+spine spread is: 420+ 15+20=455mm, and the width is still 210mm, and finally a hard-shell cover will be made.
The size of the hard shell is slightly larger than that of the inner page. After finding a suitable position, you can mark it with a pencil, stick double-sided tape on the four sides of the hard shell and fix it on the back of the cover. Finally, the cover is folded inward and glued firmly, and the hard-shell cover is finished. Finally, the inner page is glued to the hard shell cover to complete the production of the handmade butterfly picture book.
