Functions of the National Library of Spain
Collect books, manuscripts, non-book materials, periodicals and all forms of media materials in all official languages and other languages in Spain, compile catalogues and print bibliographies, and promote the knowledge in these collections to promote research, culture and information.

● Use consultation, research lending and replication to promote research in all aspects, especially in the field of humanities.

Attach great importance to the supervision of legally submitted books and ensure the compilation of Spanish national bibliography and the dissemination of information.

● Carry out research on library science and bibliography needed by the country, as well as book protection, acquisition and circulation of books and materials.

● Carry out research cooperation with other libraries and cultural and scientific groups to improve and perfect the functions of libraries.

● Implement, coordinate and formulate research plans in the areas under their jurisdiction.

● Other functions of the National Pavilion can be adjusted at any time within the framework prescribed by law.
