A rich collection

HKUST Library has accumulated a rich collection of books in the fields of mathematics, mechanics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, biology, material science, mechanical engineering, electric power and electrical engineering, nuclear science and technology, electronic communication and automatic control, computer science and technology, etc. At present, the library has 2 million books and periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages, including more than 4,000 printed foreign periodicals and more than 3,000 Chinese sci-tech periodicals.

There are enough reading and self-study seats

At present, HKUST Library has three buildings in the west, east and south, with a total area of 35,000 square meters and more than 3,000 reading and self-study seats. There are 7 lending offices in the three libraries, 6 of which serve 7 days a week, and 19 reading rooms of various types are open 5 -7 days a week, providing borrowing, reading, copying and other services for teachers and students at school, with an average annual reception of about 330,000 readers.

The collection is updated quickly.

The library adds 60,000 to 80,000 Chinese books and 2,000 foreign books every year. Every year, more than 0/00 kinds of original foreign periodicals and more than 3,000 kinds of Chinese periodicals are ordered, and all collection resources are provided with OPAC query.

In addition, all three libraries have "unified return boxes" to facilitate readers to return books.
