The predecessor of the College is Zhangdian Nonferrous Metals Industry School, which was founded in 1959. In May, 2003, Shandong Industrial Vocational College was established on the basis of Shandong Industrial School and Shandong Metallurgical Workers College, the national key secondary schools. The college is now a civilized unit in Shandong Province, the first batch of famous schools with technical characteristics in Shandong Province, the first batch of pilot higher vocational colleges with credit system in Shandong Province, and the chairman unit of Shandong Metallurgical Vocational Education Group.
The College is located in Zibo High-tech Development Zone, adjacent to the old capital of Qi in the east, the former site of Daranfang in the west, Pu Songling's former residence in the south and his hometown in the north. Now it covers an area of 1 1,000 mu, with a building area of 375,000 square meters. The library has more than 850,000 paper books and more than 2300 students/kloc-0.
Rich in teaching resources. The College has fully implemented the "Smart Campus Construction Plan" and built a Gigabit campus network. Five teaching resources and management application systems, including Tsinghua Online, World University Town and Qingguo, have been established. The number of e-books is 10 133G, and Wanfang Database and China Knowledge Network have more than 1000 kinds of documents. There are 22 general schools for massive open online courses, including teaching resources such as professional teaching standards, curriculum standards and case testing of teaching courseware 13TB.
