Library Collection Resources of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Since 1990 implemented computer automatic management, after years of continuous improvement and transformation, the "modern electronic library information network system" has been adopted to realize the comprehensive computer network management of the library from procurement, classification, recording, collection, circulation, retrieval, reader lending management and internal affairs management. A disk array with 5.6TB storage capacity and all-fiber SAN architecture, and an electronic resource management server cluster model based on minicomputers and multiple PC servers. The network between the two libraries is connected by single-mode optical fiber, and the floors in the library are connected by gigabit network. The desktop transmission capacity is100M, and the network nodes are distributed at each working point and reader retrieval point. The library of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications has formed a comprehensive collection system, which mainly includes postal, communication, electronics, computer and other information documents, covering literature, history, philosophy, politics, economy, law, education, management and other disciplines. Among them, the key collections are complete, maintaining good continuity and systematicness, and have distinctive collection characteristics. There are 6,543,800+0,258,300 paper documents, including about 600,000 in Xianlin Campus. There are 2307 Chinese and foreign periodicals, 16 1 1 species. And has a large number of audio-visual tapes, disks, CDs attached to books, audio-visual CDs, software CDs, data CDs and other carrier literature resources.

The library of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications pays special attention to purchasing all kinds of e-books, full-text and secondary literature databases in Chinese and foreign languages, which increases the proportion of e-books and has its own characteristics. It has professional databases such as ITU telecom (T) radio (R) recommendations and communication industry standards, and now has 36 large-scale Chinese and foreign language network databases and CD-ROM databases, with 589,700 kinds of e-books, covering all professional disciplines in the school. Readers can retrieve them conveniently and quickly through the campus network.

The library of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications has built its own characteristic databases, including the postal map database of Qing Dynasty and the standard literature database of communication industry, and developed its own network management system of CD-ROM database, which has accelerated the digitization of characteristic collections and the integration and utilization of electronic publications and online resources. Among them, the database of Daqing Postal Map vividly reproduces the development of Daqing Postal Map and China Post in the form of websites, electronic charts and e-books. The establishment of Daqing postal map characteristic database is to reproduce the Chinese national culture and postal development in a new mode, show the rich knowledge connotation and precious value of Daqing postal map, and open up a new road for exploring the digitalization of ancient books.
